Petling is a pet care app that helps you keep track of your pets' health and routines. This policy explains what I collect, why, and the choices you have. I collect only what the app needs to work, I do not sell your data, and I do not show ads.

I collect the following, all of which you provide by using the app:
I do not collect location data, contacts, push notification tokens, or advertising identifiers, and I do not track you across other apps or websites. Reminders you set in the app are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device by the operating system; no notification data is sent to my servers.
I use your information only to provide the app:
I do not use your data for advertising and I do not sell or rent it to anyone.
I process your personal data on the basis of contract performance — specifically, because processing is necessary to provide the service you have signed up for (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Without this data the app cannot function. Where I retain limited records to meet a legal obligation, the basis is Article 6(1)(c).
I rely on a small number of trusted providers to run the app. They process data only on my behalf and only as needed:
Your data is stored with my service providers for as long as your account exists. You can edit or delete individual records at any time inside the app. When you delete a record or a pet, it is removed from the active database.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time directly in the app, from Settings → Delete Account. This removes your account and its data immediately, except where I must retain limited records to meet a legal obligation. If you have any trouble, you can also email [email protected] for help.
Under GDPR and applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to data portability. Most of this you can do directly in the app; for anything else, contact me at [email protected] and I will help.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
Petling is not directed at children under the age of 13. The app does not contain content aimed at children and I do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without parental consent. If you are under 13, please use the app only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has provided me with personal data without appropriate consent, please contact me at [email protected] and I will delete it.
I use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls so that you can only see your own records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but I work to protect your information.
I may update this policy from time to time. When I do, I will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
